ALBUM OF THE MONTH

THE F100s

This debut CD release has been four years in the planning and features 10 honky tonk driven original tunes by Rick “Hoey” Bell. The F100s play stripped-down, guitar-driven, honky-tonk twang highly influenced from the backroads of Texas and the streets of Bakersfield. Americana fans will appreciate the rocking western swing and blues inflected upbeat dance tunes and beer soaked ballads drawn from country’s darker heritage of hard times and heartache. The band features ex-members of the Straight 8's, The Redliners and the Supertronics and draws influence from vintage troubadour Ernest Tubb, Honky-Tonk heroes Lefty Frizzell and Ray Price as well as Bakersfield mavericks Buck Owens and Merle Haggard infused with a blend of original tunes that cover all points between honky tonk, rockabilly & boogie.

Today The F100s’ engine room comprises Tony Harwood on roadhouse bass and Dom ‘Big Kahuna’ Prattico on diesel powered drums, Rick ‘Hoey’ Bell on lead electrical guitar and vocals and Patrick Edwards on vocals and rhythm guitar. Other members in the past include Hank Ferguson (Hank’s Jalopy Demons among others) and Dave Beljan. The twangin' sound of the F100s is catching on fast with fans of rockin' retro honky tonk. Energetic shows have got dance floors burning.
