REVIEW: In November 1942 at the ripe old age of 15, the boy from the small farm in Nulla Nulla, N.S.W. David Gordon Kirkpatrick registered and first signed his newly adopted stage name… Slim Dusty. Over the following 60 years Slim Dusty went on to release a record breaking 100 plus albums, sold more albums in Australia than any other country artist and achieved more Gold and Platinum sales awards than any other Australian artist has ever!!!
Now with the release of this his first DVD in 2002, Slim achieved yet another Music History milestone, becoming the first Australian Artist to have his music commercially released on every major modern music format at the time. Slim has also achieved Gold &/or Platinum status on every one of those formats…78 r.p.m. / 7” vinyl single / Long Play / Cassette / 8-track Cartridge / Compact Disc / VHS and now DVD. Featured are Slim’s classic tracks as well as a special bonus video for Anne Kirkpatrick’s tribute to her parents Slim and Joy…Travellin’ Still…Always Will. Sadly we lost Slim in 2003 but he left behind a massive heritage of music both on record and video for us, the Aussie country music fans to enjoy.
