Christmas has come and gone for another year, welcome to a new year. In the lead up to Christmas we were inundated with orders and we all put in extra effort to ensure, where possible, all orders were delivered before the big day. It would seem that nearly all our customers made a note of the close-off dates we advised to ensure that deliveries arrived by Christmas and made sure that their orders were lodged in time for delivery.

When Mustang Records started operating 25 years ago we were not sure how long we would be around for. We felt that there was a market lacking for the service we intended to provide and we hoped to fill that void and thanks to our many loyal customers we have now entered our 26th year of doing what we love best. We will continue to source items for you and provide them at a fair price along with reasonable shipping costs through Australia Post and it in this regard that we wish to advise our domestic customers of a small reduction in shipping costs on a number of platforms. In the past we have sourced most of our packaging from Australia Post. Australia Post have made several decisions over the last couple of years, both good and bad, that has effected shipping costs. Firstly, they introduced flat rate shipping for domestic customers if we use Australia Post packaging which does allow us to ship more items in a package based on the size of the package instead of weight. However, they reduced the range of packaging which meant that we had to ship items at times in a larger package than necessary which meant extra cost for the larger packaging. This mostly effected the shipping of two CDs as they had to be shipped as a parcel instead of a large letter at a lower cost.

In keeping with our policy of trying to ship items at a fair price we have now sourced packaging from a private manufacturer at a lower cost, including packaging suitable for shipping two CDs as a large letter once again, and as mentioned previously, have now reduced the cost of shipping on several platforms which will be reflected in the checkout. We will still be using some Australia Post packaging to take advantage of their flat rate domestic services. Unfortunately, for our international customers this change does not carry through to international orders at this time as all international orders must be shipped as a parcel based on weight and international postal zones but we will continue to work towards reducing shipping costs for you.
