REVIEW: Celebrated chanteuse Dionne Warwick joined Bandstand for a broadcast in 1966, bringing along a selection of her well-established Burt Bacharach-Hal David songs for the audience to enjoy. Included in her performance: “Taking A Chance On Love”, “Anyone Who Had A Heart”, “Trains And Boats And Planes”, “Walk On By”, “Reach Out For Me”, “Message To Michael” and “Somewhere”.
In 1967 Bandstand welcomed international superstar Liza Minelli to the show. Already a highly regarded nightclub singer and musical theatre actress, Liza Minelli performed a set list including: “Cabaret”, “Liza With A Z”, “If I Were In Your Shoes”, “Meantime”, “You’ve Let Yourself Go”, “One Of Those Songs”, “I Taught My Mother” and “Maybe This Time”. In classic Bandstand tradition Liza joined forces with the fresh-faced and highly talented The Allen Brothers to perform “Everybody Loves My Baby” setting in motion one of the most famous partnerships in music history, her marriage to Peter Allen. Also featuring performances by Bandstand regulars Ray Brown & The Whispers, Christine Roberts, Kevin Todd and Lana Cantrell and others.
