Cat. No. VV 1134: VARIOUS ARTISTS ~ ROCK BABY, ROCK IT. RHINO RECORDS RNSP 309.
USED VINYL RECORD. PART OF A COLLECTION NOW UP FOR SALE.
SOUNDTRACK OF A LITTLE KNOWN ROCK'N'ROLL MOVIE EXCEPT TO DIE-HARD COLLECTORS. REGARDED AS A CULT CLASSIC THE MOVIE WAS MADE IN 1957 AND STARRED AMONG OTHERS, JOHNNY CARROLL. THE STORY CENTRED AROUND A ROCK'N'ROLL CLUB KNOWN AS THE HOT ROCK CLUB SO NAMED CO-INCIDENTALLY, AFTER ONE OF JOHNNY CARROLL'S CLASSIC ROCKABILLY SONGS, "HOT ROCK". THE ACTING LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED AS DID MANY ROCK'N'ROLL MOVIES OF THE '50s AND EARLY '60s, HOWEVER, THERE WAS SOME GREAT MUSIC IN THE FILM MUCH OF WHICH WAS PERFORMED "LIVE" IN A RECORDING STUDIO WHICH WAS USED AS THE SETTING AND IN MOST CASES FOR MANY OF THE ARTISTS THIS WAS THEIR ONLY KNOWN FOOTAGE OF ANY OF THEIR PERFORMANCES.
