REVIEW: This DVD spotlights the great singer-songwriter and his road company before an audience that delights in the country, rockabilly, American roots music and spirituals that comprise the evening’s repertoire. Johnny is comprehensively backed by his air-tight back-up band The Tennessee Three. The 19-song set also brings to the fore, June Carter Cash in the three duets with Cash, including “If I Were A Carpenter”. June’s mother (and Cash’s mother-in-law), the legendary Maybelle Carter, is also here as are Maybelle’s other two talented daughters, Anita and Helen. On board, as well, are rockabilly eminence, Carl Perkins and the Statler Brothers.
