REVIEW: Marlon Brando is at his sultry best as he plays Johnny Rio in One Eyed Jacks, a movie he directed himself. Johnny Rio and Dan Longworth (Karl Malden) are wild companions drifting from town to town in Mexico, robbing banks and living for the moment. But Johnny is betrayed by his one-time best friend and spends five bitter years in prison. On his release, his thirst for revenge leads him to find that Dan is now a sheriff and, in an electric, tense reunion, Johnny must pretend friendship and wait for the moment when the debt will be repaid. Interestingly, the great Stanley Kubrick began as director, only to be fired by the volatile producer-star.
